About Me

More about me... Who Am I? My name is Brandy Wimberly and I am a sophomore at the University Of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. I am a double major, English and Secondary Education. I am 27 years old and live in Jackson, Alabama. I am married and have a 5 year old son. I graduated high school in 1999 from Coffeeville High School. I then attended Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham where I graduated in 2001 with a Associate Degree in Applied Science. I have been a practicing funeral director and embalmer since that time. I got interested in wanting to teach because I want to set a good example for my son by setting goals and getting as much education as I can. I also want to be on the same schedule with my son and play a major part in his education.

Making English Interesting While Using Technology

If you ask most students about English, most will probably tell you it is a boring subject.I want to make learning as fun and interesting as possible. According to most middle and high school kids, English is a very boring subject. I want to use technology to make the brunt of this seemingly tedious work seem interesting. I want each student to have an email address that can be shared with the rest of the class and myself. I want each student to keep an electronic journal that must have a message posted to either an individual student blog, or a class blog. I want be able to get in-class work to students that are absent via email or blog. Every one of my students must be on board and ready to learn using technology.
