About Me

More about me... Who Am I? My name is Brandy Wimberly and I am a sophomore at the University Of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. I am a double major, English and Secondary Education. I am 27 years old and live in Jackson, Alabama. I am married and have a 5 year old son. I graduated high school in 1999 from Coffeeville High School. I then attended Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham where I graduated in 2001 with a Associate Degree in Applied Science. I have been a practicing funeral director and embalmer since that time. I got interested in wanting to teach because I want to set a good example for my son by setting goals and getting as much education as I can. I also want to be on the same schedule with my son and play a major part in his education.

Pod Casts Help Students Learn

Pod Casts are a new creature to me. I had absolutely no experience with pod casts until Dr. Strange's EDM 310 class. It was fun and interesting to complete my very first pod cast with the help of classmates Daniel and Amanda. We discussed "The Last Lecture of Randy Pausche which you can watch right now on uTube. It was a great experience, even though I was apprehensive and nervous in the beginning. Daniel, Amanda, and I made it fun while we were having a good time. I want my students to be able to feel that same excitement after they complete a pod cast.
